How many hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.? How long from now until your flight? If you add 2 hours 15 minutes to 10:00 a.m., what time do you get? These questions come up all the time—work hours, travel, projects, events—and doing them in your head is where mistakes happen. Cross midnight, and it gets worse. A time calculator takes start and end times (or a start time and a duration) and gives you the answer: the duration in hours and minutes, or the resulting time after adding or subtracting. No counting, no slips.

Work is a big use case. You clock in at 9:07 and clock out at 17:23. How many hours did you work? A time calculator does that in seconds. So does “I need to bill 6.5 hours; if I start at 10, when do I finish?” Travel is another: “Flight leaves at 14:30, duration 7 hours 45 minutes—what time do I land?” Projects: “This task took from 2 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.—how long?” Events: “How long until the meeting?” or “How long since we started?” Once you have a tool, you stop doing mental arithmetic and just plug in the times.

Some calculators also let you add or subtract time. So “10:00 a.m. plus 2 hours 15 minutes” gives 12:15 p.m. Useful for scheduling or deadlines. The important thing is that the tool handles the carry-over: 11:45 a.m. plus 30 minutes is 12:15 p.m., not 11:75. A good time calculator gets that right so you don’t have to.

Our time calculator is free and runs in your browser. Enter start and end time to get the duration, or enter a time and add/subtract a duration to get the result. No sign-up, no data stored. Use it for work, travel, or any time you need to work with hours and minutes without the hassle.
